A badminton indoor stadium inaugurated in Tuli, Mokokchung, built with community contributions to boost local sports and talent development.

DIMAPUR — A double-court badminton indoor stadium was inaugurated at Tuli sub-division, Mokokchung, on Saturday.
According to an update, Ajit Kumar Verma, Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, attended the occasion as the special guest and officially inaugurated the stadium.
In his address, the DC lauded the community’s initiative in undertaking such infrastructural development. He remarked that it is the people and not merely resources that drive progress in society.

He also thanked Nukshimatong, Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) and Border Magistrate, Tuli, for his tireless efforts and initiative, which led to the successful construction of the stadium and brought this vision to life. He further encouraged greater community participation, stating that such involvement enhances the effectiveness of government initiatives in the region.
According to the construction report, the entire project was completed at an approximate cost of INR 34 lakh, entirely sourced through community contributions.
The stadium was constructed by the Tuli Sub-Division Badminton Association (TSDBA) under the initiative, mobilisation, and support of the sub-divisional officer (civil) and border magistrate, Tuli, along with contributions from well-wishers across Nagaland.
It was mentioned that the initial capital was raised through fundraising efforts by members of the TSDBA, and the association expressed its gratitude to all donors.
The newly inaugurated stadium is expected to serve as a hub for badminton activities, talent development, and inter-district tournaments in the days to come.
