Network of Organisations for Science and Technology Communication holds annual general meeting in Dimapur

  • DIMAPUR —  The annual general body meeting 2025 of the Network of Organisations for Science and Technology Communication (NOSTC), formerly known as NCSTC Network, was held on June 10 and 11 at Livingstone Foundation International in Dimapur, in collaboration with Livingstone Foundation Society and Breeze Women Welfare Association.

  • According to an update, the meeting was attended by more than 20 NOSTC members from various organisations across India, representing different states and union territories.

  • Members of NOSTC gathered for the annual general body meeting at Livingstone Foundation International in Dimapur.



  • The meeting was led by the chairman of NOSTC, Anuj Sinha, Scientist-G, head and advisor (retd.), NCSTC-Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, and the general secretary and convenor of NOSTC, Sanjib Kumar Sinha.

  • It was mentioned that this year’s general meeting was particularly important as the election for the new executive body members was conducted. Through a unanimous decision of all members present, it was decided that Anuj Sinha and Sanjib Kumar Sinha would continue as chairman and general secretary and convenor, respectively, for the next tenure of 2025–29.

  • The other executive members selected through unanimous decision are Kishor Raje, treasurer; Sandhya Verma, joint secretary and co-convenor and in charge of Central India; Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema, in charge of North East India; Girish Kadlewad, in charge of South India; Dr. Satender Singh, in charge of Central India; Deepak Sharma, in charge of North India; Abhijeet Vardhan, in charge of East India; Kishor Dev, in charge of East India; L Nabakumar; and Santu Thapa.

  • Additionally, two co-opted members were inducted: MN Singh, in charge of North India, and Dr. NK Tiwari, in charge of Central India.

  • Later, during the first governing body meeting of the new executive members, several agendas for the new term were discussed, including a proposal to organise the National Teachers’ Science Conference and the National Children’s Science Conference, conducting international science events inviting foreign students to participate, and bringing about significant changes in the dissemination of science and technology programmes among the public across India, especially among students.

  • During his welcome address, Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema called upon the members to be united in their efforts and to consider NOSTC as a big family through which they can contribute to the growth and development of science and technology in the country as an exclusive organisation.

  • He also highlighted the importance of quality education by quoting Nelson Mandela, who said that destroying any nation does not require atomic bombs or long-range missiles but rather lowering the quality of education and allowing students to cheat in examinations.
