DIMAPUR — The NEIMUN Foundation announced that the 10th edition of the North East India International Model United Nations (NEIMUN 2025) will be held at Tetso College, Dimapur, from October 24 to the 26th.

According to a press release, NEIMUN, which has completed a decade, is recognised as a premier platform for youth leadership and diplomacy in Northeast India.

The theme for this year’s conference is “Youth, peace, and security”, inspired by UN Security Council Resolution 2250 (UNSCR 2250). The discussions will cover topics such as conflict, poverty, drug abuse, small arms trade, and climate change.

The conference will be conducted in the UN4MUN format, which closely replicates UN processes, along with a parallel UNA-USA-style committee for experienced delegates.

About 200 participants aged 16–25, including students and young professionals, are expected to attend. A special focus will be on encouraging participation from under-represented communities across all eight northeastern states.

“NEIMUN is more than a Model UN – it is a movement empowering youth voices in the Northeast. As we enter our 10th edition, we celebrate a decade of impact while nurturing the next generation of global changemakers,” said Kevithuto Neikha, secretary-general of NEIMUN 2025.

The NEIMUN Foundation, established in 2023, also carries out youth engagement through its MUN Clubs initiative, which supports schools and colleges in setting up student-led MUN clubs with mentorship and training.

The foundation was created to expand NEIMUN’s decade-long impact and is committed to building leadership and diplomatic skills among youth through conferences, workshops, and international collaborations.

Its stated mission is to cultivate informed leaders capable of making meaningful contributions to Northeast India, India, and the world.
