DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Education Project – The Lighthouse (NECTAR) is conducting a training on the Annual Curriculum and Pedagogical Plan (ACPP) as part of the School Transformation Strategy for Trainers of Teachers (ToTs) and Professional Learning Communities (PLC) subject presidents and mentors at the Administrative Training Institute, Kohima, from January 28 to the 31st.
The four-day training focuses on the ACPP framework, templates, and implementation process for English, Mathematics, Social Science, and Science to strengthen pedagogy and academic leadership at the Lighthouse School Complex (LSC) level.
According to an update, the training will emphasise Learning Outcomes (LOs) and student competency through pedagogical improvements.

In the keynote address, Shashank Pratap Singh, Principal Director of DoSE and project director of NECTAR, stressed the importance of developing a micro plan at the classroom level along with ACPP to cater to the unique and differential needs of each pupil.
He also emphasised the need to devise plans for Children with Special Needs (CwSN) so that they are not left out. He further stated that, in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, focus must be placed on learning outcomes through appropriate pedagogy.
The training is being attended by over 70 participants from all 17 districts. It includes sessions on the ACPP design process, quality review, implementation, monitoring, and cascade plan. Following the state-level training, the participants will carry forward the lessons and insights to teachers in all the LSCs in the districts in February.
The ACPP is a comprehensive guide that supports schools in designing, implementing, reviewing, and strengthening teaching and learning across the academic year. This is mandated under the School Quality Assessment and Assurance Framework (SQAAF) by the Ministry of Education, through which the quality of all schools will be evaluated.
