North East Zone Cultural Centre and Department of Art and Culture organise ‘Bharat Ko Jano Yatra’ in Tseminyu to promote national integration and cultural awareness.

DIMAPUR — The ‘Bharat Ko Jano Yatra’ chain programme was held in Tseminyu town on Wednesday to promote national integration and cultural awareness.
The event was organised by the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur, Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with the Department of Art and Culture.
According to an update, Japhet Woch, Deputy Commissioner of Tseminyu, attended the event as the special guest. Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted the historical ties between the Rengma community and Tai Ahom, Assam.

The event featured cultural performances by the Tseminyu Village Men Cultural Troupe, Tai Education Initiative, Mariam, Assam, Phenwhenyu and Gujü Village Cultural Troupe, Kandi Village Cultural Troupe and Tseminyu Village Women Cultural Troupe.
Around 320 members of the public and students attended, including dignitaries from the Rengma Hoho, Rengma Women Organisation, Rengma Students Union, and Rengma GB Association.
The welcome address was delivered by Senilo Kath, ARO, Kohima, while the keynote address was delivered by Teisovikuolie Therie, Deputy Director, Department of Art and Culture.
