DIMAPUR — Nagaland (NL) Independent (I) Sainik School Company NCC organised its 109 combined annual training camp (CATC-109) for the year 2025-26 from October 6 to the 15th.


An update from the school stated that cadets were imparted basic knowledge of weapon training, weapon display, firing, disaster management, tent pitching, fire fighting, skill development, cyber security, prevention of HIV/AIDS, first aid etc. during the ten-day camp.


It added that conduct of drill, volleyball, basketball, tug of war and cultural programme competitions were the other highlights of the camp.


A total of 168 cadets including 95 from junior division/ junior wing (JD/JW)– army and 73 from senior division/ senior wing (SD/SW)-army participated in the camp. The cadets were divided into Alpha, Bravo and Charlie companies.

It stated that two associate NCC officers, one caretaker officer along with permanent NCC instructors from Sainik School Punglwa,  two instructors from 1 Air Squadron NCC Dimapur and from 2 instructors from Assam Rifles were part of the camp.


It added that the camp provided the cadets invaluable military training, life skills and sense of discipline and camaraderie.


The closing ceremony along with prize distribution was attended by Col. (Dr) Smita Misra, principal of Sainik School Punglwa, wherein the cadets put up impressive cultural performance.


Speaking on the occasion, the principal commended the enthusiastic participation of the cadets in all the activities and congratulated the efforts of complete NCC staff for their commendable and valuable contributions for overall development of NCC cadets and successful conduct of this Camp.


The overall best trophy was bagged by Bravo (B) Coy.
