Over 500 delegates attend the Nagaland Baptist Church Council’s NEXTGEN Christian Education Leaders Conference on discipleship in Kohima.
DIMAPUR — The Christian Education Department of the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) concluded the three-day NEXTGEN Christian Education Leaders Conference at the NBCC Convention Centre in Kohima on Thursday.
According to an update, more than 500 attendees participated in sessions on discipleship, Christian education, child protection, technology, gender identity, intergenerational ministry and inclusion.
Held on the theme “Rethinking discipleship for the next generation”, the conference commenced on September 8 and brought together Christian education leaders, pastors, educators, and children’s ministry workers from across Nagaland.
Praise and worship throughout the event was led by the Covenant Baptist Church Dimapur worship team, alongside dramatic presentations by the youth departments of Dimapur Sumi Baptist Church and Aoyimti Baptist Arogo.
The conference featured sessions led by resource persons representing theological education, medicine, pastoral ministry, entrepreneurship, social welfare, and disability-related services.

Topics examined during the sessions included “Exploring Biblical gender identity/sexual orientation amidst cultural shifts", “Intergenerational involvement in Christian ministry", “AI and the church: Navigating the intersection of technology and faith", “The Biblical and ethical consideration of child protection within the church",
“Raising ‘resilient’ children: Integrating physical, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual growth", and “Embracing and engaging children with special needs".
Breakout sessions allowed delegates to engage with the themes, including a session on basic sign language conducted by interpreter Eliza Chishi to promote inclusive ministry. Three evening worship services brought together delegates from Baptist associations across the state.
The conference concluded with an evening message delivered by Dr. Kethoser Aniu Kevichusa.
