Tetso College in Chümoukedima opens the two-day Pow-woW Lore youth festival celebrating art and literature.
DIMAPUR — A national-level youth festival, Pow-woW Lore: Youth Quill and Canvas 2026, opened at Lorin Hall, Tetso College, Chümoukedima, on Thursday, bringing together around 500 participants from across higher education institutions in Nagaland.
Organised with a focus on literature, art, culture, and creativity, the two-day festival is being held in partnership with the Nagaland Influencers Summit 2026 to provide a platform for students to showcase talent and engage in activities outside the classroom.
Speaking as the chief guest, Kevitsu Medoze, proprietor of Synergy Group, expressed satisfaction with the event growing into a national-level platform, noting that Tetso College holds the potential to host programmes of national and international significance.
According to an update, observing that academic degrees alone are no longer sufficient in a competitive environment, Medoze pointed out the importance of hard work, teamwork, networking, and practical life skills.
“Without hard work, even AI doesn’t work,” he said, urging participants to “try to be the best in the world, not just here in Nagaland.” He also encouraged participating institutions to establish exchange programmes to promote interaction and collaborative learning.

Merangtsuba Longkumer, Deputy Registrar and Dean of Residential Life at Tetso College, described the festival as a celebration of art, culture, and youth enthusiasm.
Referring to the college motto, “Strive for Excellence", he encouraged delegates to return with new ideas, friendships, and experiences in addition to participation certificates.
Convenor of the festival, Dr. Asenla Yanger outlined the objectives of the event, stating that it was designed to help young people explore diverse forms of expression while building confidence. She informed the gathering that eight higher education institutions have registered for the various competitions.
The festival features diverse competitions, including poetry slam, declamation, heritage talent showcase, indigenous storytelling, debate, heritage fashion ramp, live painting, spelling bee, hackathon, advertising challenges, story writing, and cosplay.
