NAM observes World Homoeopathy Day in Kohima; DHFW inaugurates Ayush nursery to promote indigenous medicinal plants.

DIMAPUR — The National Ayush Mission (NAM) observed World Homoeopathy Day on the theme “Homoeopathy for sustainable health” at the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare (DHFW), Kohima, on April 10.
According to an update, the guest of honour for the occasion, Dr. Akuo Sorhie, retired Mission Director of NAM and NHM, spoke on the role and impact of the homoeopathy system of medicine.
Dr. Sentimeren Aonok, Director (Health), as the special guest, appreciated and encouraged the homoeopathy doctors to facilitate contributing towards sustainable healthcare for society.

The event also witnessed a ceremonial cake-cutting by Dr. Keveduyi Theyo, Mission Director of NAM and NHM, to mark the 271st birth anniversary of Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, founder and “Father of Homoeopathy".
Dr. T Bendangtula, Deputy Director (Ayush), chaired the event alongside conveying the significance of the day.
In addition, the inauguration of the Ayush plants nursery on the premises of the department was attended by Dr. Mereninla Senlem, Principal Director of DHFW.
The Ayush Nursery is an initiative of the State Medicinal Plants Board (SMPB) of Nagaland under the Ayush section of the department, which, it was mentioned, will cater to the raising, maintenance, and development of medicinal plants.
