Nagaland Wrestling Association held selection trial in Kohima; athletes chosen for AITWPF and upcoming international championships.

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) conducted its selection trial on September 25 in Kohima. The trial was aimed at identifying athletes who will represent NWA at the All India Traditional Wrestling & Pankration Federation (AITWPF) Selection Trial, scheduled for 4th and 5th October in New Delhi, informed a press release.
Successful athletes from the AITWPF trial will go on to represent India at the UWW World Belt Wrestling Championship 2025 and the inaugural World Naga Wrestling Championship 2025, slated to be held from 15th to 23rd November 2025 in Kohima.
The following athletes were selected to represent NWA at the AITWPF Trials:
Senior men:
100+ Kg: Kezhaseluo-o Pienyü
100 Kg Below: Venuzo Dawhuo, Huluyi D. Vadeo, Venuh Vadeo (wild card)
Senior women:
75+ Kg: Thuputha Hesüh, Vevokho Ruho
75 Kg Below: Seyiejalie Gwirie, Azhalhou Kire, Kuvenu Puro (Wild Card), Nlumrai Hegwang (wild card)
