Nagaland University scholar Welisou Mero wins the Gavin Mooney Prize for her paper on public healthcare in Phek district.

DIMAPUR — Welisou Mero, a PhD research scholar working under the supervision of Dr. Renbeni Kikon, assistant professor, Department of Economics, Nagaland University, was awarded the Gavin Mooney Prize during the 13th Indian Health Economics and Policy Association Conference held at IIT Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, on December 12 and 13.
According to an update, the prize is named after the pioneering health economist who championed equity in healthcare and reshaped health policy thinking.
The award was for a paper titled "Assessing Public Healthcare Service Quality in Nagaland: Insights from a Case Study in Phek District".
The paper was jointly prepared by the scholar with her supervisor.
