Nagaland University’s Joginder Singh Panwar received the IBS Prof. PC Trivedi Medal 2025 for outstanding editorial excellence.

DIMAPUR — Joginder Singh Panwar from the Department of Botany, Nagaland University, has been conferred the Prof. PC Trivedi Medal for Editorial Excellence 2025 by the Indian Botanical Society (IBS).
According to an update, the award was presented during the 48th All India Botanical Conference held at North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, from October 29 to the 31st.
The citation highlighted his contributions as an author, editor, and researcher in the field of plant-microbe interactions. He has edited 31 books published by major international academic publishers such as Elsevier, Springer, Taylor and Francis Group, and John Wiley and Sons, focusing on the practical applications and technological developments that translate microbial science into real-world environmental and agricultural solutions.
Panwar has also been serving as an associate editor for ‘Frontiers in Environmental Science (Toxicology, Pollution and the Environment)’ since 2020.

It said that his significant contributions to the field of plant-microbe interactions include the publication of 266 research and review articles in peer-reviewed journals and 125 authored or co-authored book chapters. He has secured eight published and four granted patents and has mentored fifteen PhD scholars.
Panwar has also received international recognition, being listed in the “World Ranking of Top 2% Scientists” database released by Stanford University, USA, and Elsevier for three consecutive years from 2023 to 2025.
