DIMAPUR — Under the Government of India’s Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Programme, Nagaland University organised the youth parliament and debate competition on Friday with its finance officer, Albert Khizho, as the chief guest.


An update from the university stated that about 40 students discussed and debated on the topic “Emergency period in India.”


Winners of the youth parliament were Mengo Neangbo, Neizokhonuo and Moamongba Jamir, while winners of the debate competition were Imsu Waden Ozukum and Ilihima H Yepthomi.


The judges were Dr. Monalisa Tase, assistant professor Political Science; Dr. Deepak Bhaskar, assistant professor of Political Science; and Dr. Suraj Beri, assistant professor of Sociology.

It informed that the winners would compete at the district level and at the state level competition.


Speeches were also delivered by Dr. Likhase Sangtam, chairperson; Albert Khizho and Prof. Prof. Dasarathi Bhuiyan, head of Political Science.


Officials including Dr. Monalisa Tase, member; Dr. Tiasunep, point of contact for Zunheboto district); Dr. Neizhanuo Golmei, nodal faculty; and Peter Ki, nodal officer, were also present in the programme.
