DIMAPUR — The Nagaland department of Social Welfare has said it would rationalise non-performing anganwadi centres in the state.
In a notification issued on Tuesday, the department announced a state-wide performance review of all anganwadi centres, citing persistently low enrolment and underperformance in several centres.

The review will be based on data drawn from the Poshan Tracker App, which is integrated with a facial recognition system. It said that centres found to be non-performing will be rationalised and relocated to uncovered areas that meet the prescribed eligibility criteria.
The department called on community leaders and local authorities to extend full cooperation during the assessment process. It also urged support for Aadhaar enrolment and updation to ensure that anganwadi services reach all eligible and deserving beneficiaries.
