KOHIMA — The Miss North East 2026 beauty pageant is all set to be held on Feb. 7 at Regional Centre of Excellence for Music and Performing Arts (RCEMPA) in Jotsoma from 5 pm onwards.
The event is being organised by Northeast Beauty Pageant Organisation (NBPO) and managed by Beauty and Aesthetic Society of Nagaland (BASN).
A total of 13 contestants from northeastern states including Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Sikkim, Mizoram and Assam will be vying for the title.

Mele Pucho, president of BASN during a press conference on Thursday at Symphony café, Kohima maintained that NBPO comprises of all the official state pageant organisers from all the eight states of Northeast, and expressed that they are fortunate to be hosting the event in Nagaland.
He recalled that Nagaland is fortunate to be hosting the pageant for the second time. The first Miss North East was held in Nagaland in the year 2022, the second edition was held in Sikkim, and the third edition which was supposedly scheduled to be held in Assam was postponed and re-located to Kohima following the unfortunate demise of singer Zubeen Garg last year (2025).
In regard to the prize money for the winners, he informed that the total prize money is about 1 lakh including the title holders, along with gift hampers.
