DIMAPUR — Nagaland is all set to host the 22nd Annual Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region Zone-III conference.


According to a DIPR report, the conference will be held in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly from November 9 to the 13th on the theme ‘Policy, progress and people: Legislatures as catalysts of change.’


The CPA India Region Zone-III serves as a vital platform for the eight North-east states to discuss and find common solutions to regional challenges, covering topics from economic development to policy issues and developing a stronger, unified voice for the region.


Speaker of Lok Sabha, Om Birla, will be the chief patron and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio the vice patron of the conference.

Nagaland Legislative Assembly Speaker Sharingain Longkumer, who is also the chairman of the CPA India Region Zone-III, extended invitation to all the presiding officers of the North-east legislatures and dignitaries to attend the conference.


The event will showcase plenary sessions, expert panels, practical workshops, stall exhibition and cultural programmes that highlight legislative innovation, procedural reforms, transparency and inclusive governance across the region, the report stated.
