- KOHIMA — Nagaland will likely experience
isolated heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds
till May 26, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) stated in an update on
Tuesday.
- As per the IMD, Northeast states are expected to experience
fairly widespread to widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty
winds (40-50 kmph) over the next seven days.
- Isolated heavy rainfall is expected over Arunachal Pradesh
(May 22-26) and Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, and Tripura (till
May 7). Additionally, Assam and Meghalaya may experience isolated very heavy
rainfall on May 21.
- According to the district-wise update for Nagaland,
thunderstorms, lightning, and squalls are expected across most districts on May
21, except Peren and Dimapur.
- Thunderstorms, lightning, and squalls are expected in Mon,
Longleng, Tuensang, Kiphire, and Kohima districts on May 22.

- Thunderstorms and lightning are expected to persist in Mon,
Longleng, Tuensang, and Kohima districts on May 23. On May 24, Mon, Longleng,
Tuensang, Mokokchung, Kiphire and Kohima districts are likely to continue to
experience thunderstorm, lightning and squalls.
