Nagaland will shift to a fully online birth and death registration system through the CRS ORGI portal from June 1, 2026.

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland department of Economics and Statistics has notified that registration of births and deaths in the state will shift to a 100% online system with effect from June 1, 2026.
According to the notification, all registrations will be carried out through the designated CRS ORGI portal, while manual registration across the state will be discontinued from May 31, 2026.
The department stated that the move aims to improve data accuracy, reliability and real-time reporting, besides phasing out fraudulent practices in the registration process.
The notification supersedes an earlier notification issued on January 22, 2025.
