Nagaland Taekwondo team bagged two gold and one silver medal at the 4th Sub-Junior National Taekwondo Championship in Cuttack, Odisha.

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland team, represented by the Nagaland Taekwondo Association (NTA), registered an impressive performance at the 4th Sub-Junior National Taekwondo Championship held at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, Cuttack, Odisha, from August 28 to the 30th.
The team, led by coaches Visabiu Peseyie and Santsuthung Ngullie with T Alem Aier as team manager, competed in six weight categories in the Sub-Junior Boys Division and returned with two gold medals and one silver medal, according to a press release issued by NTA.

The medal winners included Shiusuthong (gold), who defeated Maharashtra, Haryana, Telangana and Bihar (final) in the under-35 kg category; Sudeh Lamliu (gold), who defeated Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Uttarakhand (final) in the under-29 kg category; and Iciheing Ndang (silver), who defeated Punjab and Maharashtra but lost in the final to Uttar Pradesh in the under-50 kg category.
The players and officials of NTA extended special gratitude to Kethosituo Sekhose, director of the Department of Youth Resources and Sports, and Pele Khezhie, president of NTA, for their continuous support and encouragement.
