Nagaland State Transport offers senior citizens free bus travel for four annual round trips under its fare concession scheme
KOHIMA — Senior citizens aged 60 years and above in Nagaland are entitled to 100% fare concession on Nagaland State Transport (NST) buses for up to four round trips in a calendar year, the state-run transporter has reiterated.
In a communication to the Programme Manager of National Helpline for Senior Citizens (Elder Line-14567), NST General Manager Shikaho P Yeptho said the concession is being publicised through the helpline to raise awareness among elderly citizens across the state.
According to the communication, the concession is limited to four round trips annually. It is valid from the originating station to the terminating station, with each completed stretch counted as one journey.
To avail of the concession, applicants must be aged 60 years or above and submit a photocopy of their Aadhaar card, a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the respective District Social Welfare Department, and two passport-size photographs.

Eligible passengers may apply through the respective NST station officer in their district or at the office of the general manager, NST Headquarters, Dimapur.
The communication was issued in response to a request from the National Helpline for Senior Citizens seeking details of travel concessions available to elderly citizens in Nagaland.
