The Nagaland State Pharmacy Council outlines penalties for misrepresentation and unregistered practice.

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland State Pharmacy Council (NSPC) has informed that Section 26A (3) of the Pharmacy Act, 1948, stipulates that anyone wilfully obstructing a pharmacy inspector in the exercise of their powers can face a penalty of up to INR 1 lakh.
In a press release, Khele Thorie, Registrar of NSPC, also stated that Section 41 of the Act outlines penalties for falsely claiming to be a registered pharmacist. If someone not registered claims to be or uses titles suggesting registration, they can face: A fine of up to INR 1 lakh for the first offense; imprisonment up to three months, a fine of up to INR 2 lakh, or both for subsequent offenses
Further, according to Section 42, dispensing medications without registration can result in imprisonment for up to three months, a fine of up to INR 2 lakh, or both, the release stated.
