Nagaland Staff Selection Board cancels ANM/FHW recruitment exam following High Court order

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) has cancelled the recruitment examination for 61 posts of Auxiliary Nurse Midwife/Female Health Worker (ANM/FHW) in the department of Health and Family Welfare, in compliance with a Kohima Bench of Gauhati High Court ruling. 


According to an official notification, the cancellation follows a court order issued on August 19 directing the state government to amend the Nagaland Nursing Services Rules, 1988, to clearly define the eligibility and educational criteria for the posts. The amendments are to be carried out within 45 days.

Once the rules are amended, the department of Health and Family Welfare has been asked to submit a requisition to the NSSB within 15 days, strictly adhering to the provisions of Regulation 14 of the NSSB Regulations, 2020. Thereafter, the board will issue a fresh advertisement for the posts within another 15 days.


The notification clarified that the written examination held on February 24, 2024, stands cancelled with immediate effect. It added that fresh recruitment would be conducted only after the revised eligibility criteria are notified and all directives are fully complied with.
