DIMAPUR — The Phom Students’ Conference (PSC) has renewed its call for accountability in government offices across Longleng district after conducting another round of inspections.

In a press release issued on Friday, the student body expressed concern over the persistent absence of several heads of departments (HoDs) and staff in government offices located in the district.

The PSC highlighted several problems in its findings following the inspection. At the Village Guard office, it was found that construction of the kote facility remained incomplete as the bill had not been released by the higher authority.

The District Food and Civil Supplies office was reported to be functioning with acute staff shortages.

It also pointed to the absence of an executive engineer and SDO (Housing) under the Public Works and Housing Department, despite Longleng being a district headquarters.

Similarly, the Land Records and Survey department was found to be operating without a regular LDA and two SFAs, leading to frequent disruptions in its functioning.

Reaffirming its stance, the PSC appealed to all officers and staff to uphold punctuality, sincerity, and dedication in serving the public.

It further reminded HoDs and staff to remain stationed at their respective postings and attend office regularly, while assuring that the PSC will continue its inspection drives and take necessary measures in the interest of public service.
