Nagaland shooters impress at Red & White International Shooting Championship 2026 in Jakarta ahead of 2027 WRABF World Championship.
DIMAPUR — Dr. Kerheho Kera and Kevipozu Hibo of The Nagaland Benchrest Shooting Club have strengthened their credentials to represent India at the 2027 World Rimfire and Air Rifle Benchrest Federation (WRABF) World Championship following their performances at the Red & White International Shooting Championship 2026 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The championship was held at the Senayan Shooting Range from September 3 to the 6th and organised by PB PERBAKIN (ISHA) Indonesian Shooting Association, according to a press release.
Representing India alongside Divyana Vij and Shubhanshi Verma, the four-member Indian contingent competed against nearly 500 shooters from across the world in one of the sport's most competitive international events.
While India finished 12th in the overall team standings, the team's performance against a strong international field provided valuable exposure and reinforced its preparations ahead of the 2027 World Championship in South Africa.

Among the Indian contingent, Dr. Kerheho Kera secured 33rd place in the individual rankings, while Kevipozu Hibo finished 43rd, reflecting the growing competitiveness of Indian benchrest shooters on the international stage.
Congratulating the duo, Hina Vij, General Secretary of the Rimfire & Air Rifles Benchrest Shooting Association of India (RABSAI), commended their dedication, discipline, and consistent performances, expressing confidence that they will continue to bring laurels to The Nagaland Benchrest Shooting Club, the state of Nagaland, and the nation.
The association also encouraged the athletes to intensify their preparations, refine their technical precision, and maintain rigorous training as they set their sights on the WRABF World Championship, scheduled to be held in South Africa from August 1 to the 12th.
