Nagaland government shifts Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid) holiday to May 28 following Centre’s notification.

DIMAPUR — Nagaland Home department has revised the date for the Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid) holiday in the state, shifting it from May 27 to May 28, in line with a notification issued by the government of India.
In a partial modification of its earlier holiday notification issued on October 29, 2025, the Home department announced that all offices under Nagaland government will now observe Bakrid holiday on Thursday, May 28, instead of Wednesday, May 27.
The revised order also applies to public holidays declared under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.
The Home department stated that the change has been made as instructed by the Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), on May 22.
