DIMAPUR — A farewell programme in honour of seven retiring officers of the Nagaland Secretariat Service (NSS), along with the Nagaland Secretariat Service Association (NSSA) general body meeting, was held at the Secretariat Conference Hall, Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima, on Wednesday.


According to a DIPR report, the NSS cadre bid farewell to seven NSS officers, including Additional Secretary Imtitemsu, Under Secretary Arenla Imchen, Deputy Secretary K Libanthung Patton, Joint Secretary Thenjangusanuo Savino, Joint Secretary K Tsapongla Sangtam, Deputy Secretary Rhonthungo Andreas, and Section Officer Neirienuo Mepfhuo-o.


Deputy Secretary for Economics and Statistics, Rhonthungo Andreas, delivering the speech on behalf of the retiring officers, expressed gratitude to their colleagues and staff who supported and gave due cooperation throughout their tenure.


He remarked that there has been tremendous improvement in the association and further encouraged the officers and juniors to keep up the good work. He also reminded the officers to stay grounded and committed to their duty to serve the people.

President of the NSSA, Chubasangla Longkumer, delivering the presidential speech, shared a heartfelt message about the importance of attending association programmes and celebrating the retirement of senior officers.


She wished the retiring officers a happy and fulfilling retired life. She further highlighted two key sensitisation programmes planned for the officers: the New Pension Scheme and the Chief Minister's Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS), which are in the pipeline and likely to be held in the latter part of August.


Additional Secretary, Home Department, Nusieta Rhakho invoked blessings for the event, and a song was presented by the 54th NSS batch.


During the business session, the board of directors for the NSS Cooperative Society Ltd. was inducted, and a sensitisation programme on the National Pension System was also presented by the Nagaland National Pension System Government Service Employees Forum.
