DIMAPUR — The Nagaland RMSA Teachers’ Association (NRMSTA-2016) has announced that it will continue with its ongoing indefinite pen-down strike, citing the absence of any response from the state government to its demands.
According to the association, the strike is expected to affect 133 government high schools across Nagaland. This includes 18 schools in Dimapur, Chümoukedima, and Niuland, as well as 19 schools in Kohima and Tseminyu.
Speaking to Eastern Mirror, the president of NRMSTA-2016, Imlitemjen, said that during the strike period, teachers will refrain from conducting normal classes and will not carry out any school-related work, either online or offline.

He acknowledged that such agitation inevitably impacts students but expressed hope that the government would step forward with a positive response to address the matter.
At the same time, he cautioned that if the government fails to respond even after the first phase of agitation, the association may be compelled to resort to more drastic measures. However, he clarified that before escalating, the organisation will hold a meeting to decide the next step of the agitation.
