The Public Health Engineering Department, Rural Division, launched a Swachh Gaon, Surakshit Jalvayu campaign starting from June 1 for village functionaries.
According to a DIPR report, the campaign, which will run until June 5, commenced on its first day with the sensitisation of gram panchayats and lead facilitators on Solid Waste Management (SWM) Rules 2026 and the order of the Supreme Court.

Participants were sensitised to comply with the four-way segregation under the new SWM Rules 2026, avoid the usage of single-use plastics, stop the burning of garbage, and mobilise communities to ensure cleanliness and the proper operation and maintenance of SWM assets in their villages.
