DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Pencak Silat Association (NPSA) extended its gratitude to the Department of Youth Resources and Sports (DYRS) for recognising and felicitating 31 meritorious Pencak Silat athletes out of 151 sportspersons from various sports disciplines with cash awards on the occasion of National Sports Day held at IG Stadium, Kohima.
The association expressed its thanks to the Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for his commitment and leadership in promoting sports across the state.

It said that under his guidance, Nagaland has witnessed a renewed focus on developing sports infrastructure, supporting athletes through financial assistance, and creating opportunities for participation at the national and international levels.
The Association also lauded the MLA and Advisor for Youth Resources and Sports, S Keoshu Yimkhiung, for his dedication towards empowering young sportspersons of the state.
“His proactive efforts in extending financial assistance to meritorious athletes and his vision to strengthen the grassroots structure of sports have greatly benefited various disciplines, including Pencak Silat,” it read.
Further, the association conveyed its gratitude to Kethosituo Sekhose, director of DYRS for his efforts to promote and uplift sports in the state.
