DIMAPUR — A Pawan Hans Dauphin twin-engine helicopter made trial landings across five district headquarters in Nagaland on Tuesday, marking a key preparatory step towards the launch of helicopter services under the first phase of the Regional Connectivity Scheme–UDAN (RCS-UDAN).
The helicopter landed at the helipads of Kohima, Zunheboto, Tuensang, Mokokchung and Phek as part of operational trials ahead of the proposed rollout of services connecting these districts with Dimapur, according to an update.

The initiative is being implemented under the RCS-UDAN scheme of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, with the objective of improving regional air connectivity and accessibility in the state.
Commissioner and Secretary Robert Longchari, along with officials from the Transport Department, interacted with the Pawan Hans team at the Kohima Civil Helipad during the trial.
