DIMAPUR — The Naga Women Hoho Dimapur (NWHD) and the United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) have expressed concern over the state government’s delay in addressing the demands of the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) 2016 batch teachers, particularly the implementation of the prescribed pay scale.
NWHD, in a press release, expressed its deep discontent and concern over the prolonged delay by the state government in implementing the prescribed pay scale for the RMSA 2016 batch teachers.
Stating that teachers are the backbone of the education system, the NWHD noted that it is unacceptable that these committed educators continue to be denied their rightful entitlements, despite fulfilling their duties with sincerity and dedication.

Stating that the recent government statement dated August 27, which informed that the matter has been sent to the Supreme Court for a review petition on August 14, only adds to the frustration of the teachers who have already waited for years, it said that asking them to "remain patient" while they struggle to support their families is unjust and insensitive.
It further said that due to continued government ignorance, the education of students is being put at serious risk and urged the government to take immediate and decisive action to resolve this long-pending matter.
The office of the USSC, while extending its fullest support to the demand of the Nagaland RMSA Teachers Association 2016 batch, expressed concern over the state government’s failure to uphold the High Court order dated March 16, 2022.

It said that those teachers, who were selected through a transparent and open recruitment process, deserve fair and equal treatment just like their counterparts from other batches.
It further said that the Department of School Education and the state government must not continue to display an apathetic attitude towards the genuine demands of these teachers who are shaping the lives and future of countless students.
The USSC said that as a representative body committed to the welfare and future of students, the conference will not remain silent if the rightful concerns of teachers are ignored.
It went on to say that the organisation shall not tolerate any such action and stands ready to resort to any measures that threaten and put the future of students at stake. The conference urged the government to act swiftly, justly, and responsibly by ensuring that an amicable and permanent solution is meted out in resolving this issue.
