DIMAPUR — Nagaland unit of the National Domestic Workers Movement (NDWM), in collaboration Assisi Centre for Integrated Development (ACID), observed International Labour Day on Friday at Assisi Hall on the theme “Ensuring a healthy psychosocial working environment.”
An update from the organisation stated the keynote speaker, Advocate Priya delivered an insightful address and emphasised the importance of labour rights, particularly the need for safe working environments and fair wages. She highlighted that workers should feel secure and be respected in their work places.

She also spoke on various welfare schemes available for both organised and unorganised workers and encouraged them to carry out their responsibilities with confidence and dignity.
Sr. Jobina Varghese, director of ACID, highlighted the significance of the theme. Asserting that no work is small or insignificant, she called for greater respect, dignity and recognition for all workers.
The event concluded with a collective commitment to uphold the rights, dignity and well-being of workers.
