DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Government Teachers’ Association (NGTA) has informed that it will continue its phase-I democratic protest on Friday, stating that it has not received any positive response from the department regarding its demand for inclusion of its salary component under the State Non-Development Expenditure.
In a press release issued on Thursday, the association appreciated what it described as a “huge turnout” of more than 1,500 members, including lactating mothers and those who were unwell, who it said joined the protest considering it “genuine and unavoidable” in the fight for their rights.

The NGTA also acknowledged the district administration and the police department for maintaining law and order, which it said contributed to the success of the democratic protest.
