Reward offered in Wokha assault
DIMAPUR — Wokha Police have announced a cash reward of INR 10,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of two unidentified individuals accused of assaulting an 87-year-old man in Wokha. According to the police, the identity of anyone providing credible information will be kept strictly confidential. Members of the public with knowledge related to the incident have been urged to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation. The reward has been announced as part of intensified efforts to trace the two suspects involved in the assault, which has raised concern among residents. NLA panel to visit Pfutsero
The Committee on Urban Local Bodies and Nagaland Village Councils of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), under the chairmanship of Advisor K Tokugha Sukhalu, will visit Pfutsero town on July 22 to hold a consultative meeting with village council chairmen and VDB secretaries under Pfutsero Sadar and the Pfutsero Town Council. According to a DIPR report, all members of the committee have been requested to make it convenient to join the visit.

Phek town mass social work
The monthly mass social work will be held in Phek town on July 18 from 6 am in compliance with a Phek District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) resolution. According to a DIPR report, the social work will involve government employees and the general public in collaboration with the Phek Town Council, with department employees assigned to specific areas. Deputy Commissioner of Phek, Rhosietho Nguori, requested all citizens of Phek town to actively participate in the cleanliness drive and social work in their respective wards. Shopkeepers and business establishments have also been requested to clean their shops and surrounding areas. Further, heads of departments (HoDs) and heads of offices (HoOs) have been advised to submit staff attendance reports, duly verified and countersigned by the concerned team leaders.
State PWD scholarship portal opens
The Department of Social Welfare has informed that online applications for the Scholarship for Persons with Disabilities (State Scheme) for students from Class I to Class VIII for the academic session 2026 will open on July 20 for both fresh applicants and renewals through the Common Scholarship Portal of Nagaland.According to a DIPR report, the eligibility criteria and guidelines for the scheme are available on the Common Scholarship Portal. The last date for submission of applications is November 30.
