Naga Business Association Kohima announces annual membership drive


DIMAPUR — The Naga Business Association Kohima (NBAK) has informed that its annual membership renewal and new membership drive will be held from July 1 to the 31st. The annual membership fee is INR 500. Existing members can renew their membership by presenting the old certificate and a colour photo. New membership forms will be available at the following locations: (south) M/S Lolo's Corner, Shop No. 205, 1st floor, Kohima Trade Centre; (main town) M/S Eastern Computer Agencies, 1st floor, RS Building, opposite Bank of Baroda; (north) M/S Vuto Hyundai, near Sanuoru Bridge, Secretariat Road.


Peren DPDB meeting on July 7


DIMAPUR — The monthly meeting of the Peren District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) will be held on July 7 at 11 am in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner, Peren. According to a release issued by Danyi Domeh, District Planning Officer and Member Secretary, DPDB Peren, Nagaland’s Deputy Chief Minister (In-charge of Planning and Transformation and National Highways) and Peren DPDB chairman, TR Zeliang, desire strict attendance of all DPDB members. All concerned members have been requested to attend the meeting.


Trongar Suhro excommunicates three members


DIMAPUR — The Office of the Trongar Suhro has announced the excommunication of three members for violation and practice of endogamy (marriage within the same clan), which is strictly prohibited as per the customary laws of the village. According to a press statement, the excommunicated members are Roseli Sangtam, Rotsingkyü, and Tsapichem. It said that henceforth, the citizens of Trongar Suhro will bear no responsibility for any actions committed by the mentioned persons.

NBCCYD to observe Youth Prayer Day


DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Baptist Church Council Youth Department (NBCCYD) is set to observe Youth Prayer Day on July 5 and 6 on the theme “From believer to disciple” (John 8:31–38). According to an update, the gathering will begin with a time of united prayer and fasting on July 5 from 6 am to 12 noon. The observance will continue on July 6 with the launch of the Sports and Scripture Engagement (SSE) Fun and Discovery Book. Rev. N Suhuto Chishi, NBCC Youth Secretary, invited all members to take part in this event.


Village Council Thipuz condemns abuse of minor


DIMAPUR — The Village Council Thipuzu (VCT) vehemently condemned the alleged physical abuse meted out upon an 11-year-old girl by her foster mother. In a condemnation note, it said that the community firmly stands against this evil behaviour, stating such acts have no place in society and urging the authorities to award the befitting punishment under the law for the crime committed. Furthermore, deep concern was expressed and prayers offered for the speedy recovery of the girl, both physically and mentally, from the suffering endured.


DIC Phek distributes toolkits to 38 beneficiaries


DIMAPUR — District Industry Centre (DIC), Phek, in collaboration with the district administration of Phek, organised a toolkit handing over ceremony for PM Vishwakarma at the DC conference hall, Phek, on Wednesday. According to a DIPR report, DC and chairman of PM Vishwakarma, Phek, Rhosietho Nguori, addressed the gathering on the occasion and handed over toolkits to the beneficiaries, requesting them to make the best use of the toolkits to generate employment. A total of 38 beneficiaries received their toolkits. A brief report on PM Vishwakarma was highlighted by Athrise, Functional Manager, DIC, Phek, and a report from the Common Service Centre (CSC) was delivered by Thupubu Venuh.


Nagaland government drivers' union to convene general meeting


KOHIMA — All Nagaland Directorate and District Government Drivers' Union convened its 31st general meeting on July 12 at Nagaland Contractors and Suppliers Unions Conference Hall, PWD Junction, Kohima, at 10 am. An update mentioned that the union requested all members to cooperate and attend the meeting.
