NTPRADAO supports JCC’s demand
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Transparency Public Rights Advocacy and Direct Action Organisation (NTPRADAO) has extended its support to the Joint Co- ordination Committee (JCC), comprising CANSSEA, FONSESA, NIDA, NSSA, NSSA NF&ASA, and backed by All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTA). In a press release, the NTPRADAO affirmed its support to the JCC’s demand to end favouritism, nepotism, and backdoor appointments in the IAS induction process for non-State Civil Service (non-SCS) officers. Condemning the government’s practice of encouraging backdoor entries into the IAS, the appealed for meritocracy, urging the government to induct the most eligible non-SCS officers, recruited through the constitutionally mandated NPSC, into the IAS.

Tuensang enforces COTPA ACT 2003
DIMAPUR — The Tuensang district administration along with officials from Police, Excise, National Tobacco Control Programme Tuensang, Tuensang Town Council and Tuensang Chamber of Commerce, conducted inspection of shops selling tobacco products within the vicinity of educational institutions and health care establishments as per COTPA ACT 2003, on October 13 in Tuensang town. According to a DIPR report, the seized items were destroyed under the supervision of district administration and police.
NU scholars excel at NEICMA conference
DIMAPUR — Two scholars from Nagaland University — Thounsinliu and Haithonlo Kath — secured second place in the paper presentation competition at the 9th Annual Conference of North East India Commerce and Management Association (NEICMA), held at Tinsukia Commerce College, Assam, on October 10 and the 11th. They received cash prize, memento and certificates. The research paper was supervised by Dr. Dhrubajyoti Bordoloi of the Department of Management, an update stated. The conference was also attended by Dr. Ditalak Mpanme, Dr. Mani R, and Kelezhalie Khoubve (research scholar) from the Department of Management, Nagaland University, Kohima Campus.
