NCD marks one year in office
DIMAPUR — The office bearers of the Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) observed the completion of one year in office with a thanksgiving service held at the NCD office premises on Saturday.
Inaho Sumi, associate pastor of Dimapur Sumi Baptist Church, led the thanksgiving service and prayer. He exhorted the NCD leaders, quoting Biblical teachings, to strengthen and renew their commitment to serving not only the people of Dimapur but the Nagas as a whole, the NCD stated in an update. The pastor also prayed for the well-being of NCD councillors, office bearers and staff, as well as the NCD’s federating tribal hohos and civil society organisations (CSOs). The service concluded with a mass prayer led by the pastor along with the NCD office bearers and staff, giving thanks for the council’s first year in office.
Rotary Club donates medicines
MOKOKCHUNG — In commemoration of its year-long golden jubilee celebration, the Rotary Club Mokokchung handed over medicines to the Chief Medical Officer Mokokchung, on August 21. The club members led by Rtn. Imlitemsu Jamir, secretary of Rotary Club Mokokchung, handed over 500 bottles of Paracetamol drops to be distributed among parents during immunisation under the maternal and child health care initiative. The initiative aims to promote timely vaccination among children and address common misconceptions regarding vaccination. (Our Correspondent)

Kiphire holds child safety workshop
A one-day workshop on child safety and security for PM SHRI Schools in Kiphire district was conducted at DPDB Hall, Kiphire, on August 21. According to a DIPR report, the workshop emphasised on emergency evacuation procedures, basic first aid, fire safety, assembly and evacuation protocols, and the roles and responsibilities of teachers, and schools staff during disasters. It also stressed on child safety and protection, psychological first aid, stress and trauma management, and appropriate psychological support for children in the aftermath of disasters and other emergencies was conducted during the session. The programme was chaired by Berela T, district project associate, DDMA Kiphire, while the welcome address was delivered by TakatemjenPongen, EAC Kiphire.
SCC students learn traditional crafts
DIMAPUR — The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Sao Chang College SSC), organised a bead-making and knitting workshop for fifth-semester students at the college conference hall on Saturday. A Alemla Chang served as the resource person for the bead-making session, while A Chubasangla Chang conducted the knitting session, the college stated in an update. The workshop focused on hands-on training, providing students with practical exposure to basic techniques while encouraging creativity, skill development and appreciation of traditional crafts. A total of 20 students actively participated in the workshop. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by K Chongliu Khiamniungan, assistant professor.
