ADC Tseminyu convenes meeting on Child Rights Week
DIMAPUR — In view of the upcoming Child Rights Week 2024 celebration, scheduled from November 14 to the 20th, ADC Tseminyu, Kikumsangla Jamir, has convened a consultative meeting on November 14 at 12 noon at the DC conference hall. According to a DIPR report, the following officials have been requested to attend the meeting: superintendent of police, special juvenile police unit, CDPO, senior medical officer, SDEO, district child protection officer, all councillors of Tseminyu Town Council, and the chairperson of CWC Tseminyu.
Longleng DPDB meeting on November 7
DIMAPUR — The office of the district planning officer, Longleng, has informed that the Longleng District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting for November will be held on November 7 at 11 am in the DPDB hall. According to a DIPR report, MLA and chairman of DPDB Longleng, B. Bangtick Phom, will be attending the meeting. All members have been requested to attend without fail.
KMC notifies on fresh trade licence
DIMAPUR — To reduce the inconvenience faced while applying for a trade license, the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has informed all applicants seeking a new trade license to first obtain a no objection certificate (NOC) from the relevant ward councillors. A circular issued by the chief executive officer, KMC, stated that those in possession of a signed NOC will not be required to obtain the councillor’s signature in the declaration form again.
PCC conducts training on making sanitizer, dishwash
DIMAPUR — The department of Chemistry at Phek Government College (PGC) conducted a hands-on training session on the preparation of hand sanitiser, liquid dishwash, and natural shampoo in the new chemistry laboratory at PGC on November 2. An update stated that, on the occasion, Dr. T Tiakaba Jamir, principal, congratulated the Chemistry department for taking the initiative to promote science in the district. He emphasised the importance of Science and the need for students to pursue Science for higher studies. Dr. H Atoholi Sema, head of department and assistant professor in the department of Chemistry, chaired the programme, which included three B.Sc. fifth semester students as trainers. Four teachers and 29 students from Government Higher Secondary School, Phek, along with faculty, staff, and students of the college, benefitted from the training.
