Hospitals told to renew ultrasound licences
DIMAPUR — All hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centres and other establishments operating ultrasound machines within Dimapur, Chümoukedima, and Niuland districts have been directed to renew their licences on or before October 31. Failure to comply with this order will invite necessary action under the provisions of the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (Prohibition of Sex Selection) Act, 1994. The directive was issued by Dr. T Yetovi Tuccu, chief medical officer, Dimapur.
Free skill training from October 7 at Sovima
DIMAPUR — A free skill training, sponsored by the Nagaland Skill and Entrepreneurship Development (NSEDM) and the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), will be held from October 7 at 6th Mile, Sovima, near ICFAI University, Chümoukedima. According to a DIPR report, the training is open exclusively for residents of the Chümoukedima district. The courses include electrician-cum-plumbing and masonry-cum-tiling (construction). The duration of the training is one month, and the educational eligibility is a Class 5 pass and above. In addition to free training, participants will be provided with free accommodation and food. Upon completion of the training, trainees will receive a certificate. The training sessions will be conducted from 8 am to 4 pm. Zoological park receives clouded leopard
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Zoological Park, Rangapahar, has acknowledged the contribution of Tovi Chophi, chair, Nagaland Chapter, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who donated a clouded leopard to the park’s care. GSUK to celebrate platinum jubilee
DIMAPUR — The Gorkha Students’ Union, Kohima (GSUK), has announced that it will celebrate its platinum jubilee on December 13. According to an update, as part of the milestone celebration, a souvenir will be published to commemorate the occasion. The union has invited literary and visual contributions from the Gorkhali residents of Kohima district, including articles, poems, and old photographs. According to the union, the contributions will play a vital role in capturing the spirit and legacy of the GSUK. The last date for submission is October 31. Grace period provided for pension collection
DIMAPUR — The Department of Social Welfare has informed all beneficiaries of the Old Age, Widow and Disabled Pension who have not collected their benefits during the payment period to do so within the grace period from October 16 to the 31st. Beneficiaries have been directed to collect their pensions during office hours at the Office of the District Welfare Officer, Diphupar.
