Dimapur Naga Students' Union cautions against impersonators
DIMAPUR — The Dimapur Naga Students' Union (DNSU), while condemning acts of impersonation, expressed serious concern over reports that some unscrupulous elements have been falsely soliciting donations by claiming to represent DNSU. The union cautioned that it will not hesitate to take stringent action against anyone found engaging in such fraudulent activities. It declared a zero-tolerance policy towards such practices. It also called upon the business community and the general public to remain vigilant and promptly report any such incidents to the DNSU office. Niuland DC bans heavy machinery for river extraction
DIMAPUR — The Deputy Commissioner of Niuland, Sara S Jamir, has issued an order banning the use of heavy machinery for the extraction of sand and boulders from the Chathe River within the district’s jurisdiction. According to the order, the rampant extraction of boulders and sand from the riverbed is causing irreparable damage to the ecology and endangering the lives and property of people in the area. To prevent further loss of life and property, preserve the river and its resources, and address the issue of floodwater inundation in villages along the riverbank, the ban has been imposed. Defaulters will be penalised as per relevant legal provisions, including seizure and confiscation of machinery and equipment.

Nagaland Legislative Assembly Library Committee meeting on June 25
DIMAPUR — S Toiho Yeptho, Deputy Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly and Chairman of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Library Committee, has scheduled the first meeting for the 2025-2026 tenure on Wednesday, 25 June, at 11 am in the C Chongshen Committee Room, Assembly Secretariat, Kohima. According to a DIPR report, all concerned members of the committee have been requested to attend the meeting.
JNVST Class 6 online registration begins
DIMAPUR — The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, has issued a notification based on a letter from the principal of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kohima, regarding the commencement of online registration for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) for admission into Class 6 for the academic session 2026–2027. The notification stated that the JNVST is scheduled for April 11, 2026. The last date for online registration is July 29, 2025.
