DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has lodged an FIR after reports surfaced on social media about the leakage of question papers from a school in Dimapur during the ongoing Phase II Class IX Final Examination 2025.

In a statement issued on Monday, the board said that it had “taken cognisance” of the reports and initiated immediate action by filing a police complaint. It urged the public to refrain from circulating unverified information or speculative posts, warning that such activity could disturb public peace or jeopardise the investigation.

The NBSE informed that examinations for the remaining subjects will continue as scheduled. However, the results for four papers — English, Social Science, Science, and Alternative English — are to be kept on hold by all registered schools.

A re-test may be conducted “in all or certain districts” depending on the extent of the leakage, the board said, adding that further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigating agency.

DNSU seeks termination

Meanwhile, the Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has condemned the leakage of Class XI examination papers.

In a statement, the DNSU demanded immediate termination of the teacher allegedly involved and urged authorities to initiate appropriate legal action without delay.

The union also warned tutors, teachers and private institutions against any form of favouritism or deliberate leaking of exam papers to benefit select students, asserting that it will remain vigilant and “will not hesitate to expose” such unethical practices.
