Multiple District Legal Services Authorities in Nagaland conducted the second quarter National Lok Adalat, settling 220 cases.

DIMAPUR — Multiple district legal services authorities (DLSAs) under the aegis of the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) conducted the second quarter National Lok Adalat across the state on May 9.
According to an update, a total of 402 cases were taken up, out of which 220 cases were disposed of, amounting to a total settlement amount of INR 3,66,21,476. The success of the disposal rate in the National Lok Adalat in Nagaland stood at about 54%.
Cases taken up were at the pre-litigation stage, including bank recovery cases, loan recovery, and telephone bills, while those at pending stages were criminal compoundable offences, MACT, and other civil cases.

Mokokchung: The Mokokchung DLSA conducted the National Lok Adalat at the District Court Complex. Victo Sema, District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman of Mokokchung DLSA, was the presiding officer.
Molodongba, PL, Temjenkokla, PL, Mapujungla, and Chubarenla were the conciliators. Altogether, 10 pre-litigation bank recovery cases were taken up, and eight were disposed of with a total settlement amount of INR 16,44,000.
Peren: The Peren DLSA conducted its session at the SBI Peren branch. Khrievono Seletsu, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary of Peren DLSA, was the presiding officer.
A total of 50 pre-litigation bank recovery cases were taken up, out of which 24 cases were disposed of with a total settlement amount of INR 20,44,500.
Kohima: The Kohima DLSA conducted the Lok Adalat at the District Court Complex. The Principal District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairperson of Kohima DLSA Mezivolu T Therieh, was the presiding officer. Retainer lawyers Sunjib Rana, Nagali Shohe, Tiakumla, Puchole, Yangpila, and K Catherine, PL, were the conciliators.
A total of 156 cases were taken up, including 123 pre-litigation and three pending, out of which 23 were disposed of with a total settlement amount of INR 17,22,048.
Mon: The Mon DLSA held its session at the District Court Mon. Nokshei Kano, District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman of Mon DLSA, and Wokono Yhoshii, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary of Mon DLSA, were the presiding officers.
Advocate Topha, Panel Lawyer for Mon DLSA Advocate Angun Konyak, Retainer Lawyer for Mon DLSA, Advocate Mannon, Chief LADC Mon, Advocate Moba, Deputy LADC Mon, and Henlem P, Panel Lawyer for Mon DLSA, were the conciliators.
Altogether, 10 pre-litigation bank recovery cases and eight litigation cases were taken up, and seven were disposed of with a total settlement amount of INR 20,57,540.
Tuensang: The Tuensang DLSA conducted its Lok Adalat at the District Court Complex. The session was presided over by Principal District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman of Tuensang DLSA Somet Chumden Chang, while Retainer Lawyer P Herola and Panel Lawyer Ayangla acted as conciliators.
They were assisted by Deputy LADC Panglang and Assistant LADC Thondi Ongphang. A total of 15 bank recovery cases were taken up, and three were disposed of with a settlement amount of INR 14,78,629.
Wokha: The Wokha DLSA conducted the Lok Adalat at the District Court Complex in Wokha. Seyielenuo Mezhu, District and Sessions Judge and Chairperson of Wokha DLSA, was the presiding officer.
Two pre-litigation bank recovery cases were taken up and disposed of with a total settlement amount of INR 3,32,000.
Phek: The Phek DLSA conducted the session at the District Court Complex, Phek. Duvelu Vero, District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairperson of Phek DLSA, was the presiding officer.
Retainer Lawyer Sekhotso Rokha, Chief LADC Vethothi Vero, and Panel Lawyer Thomeweu served as conciliators, assisted by PLVs. A total of 27 bank recovery cases were taken up and disposed of with a settlement amount of INR 49,55,778.
Kiphire: The Kiphire DLSA conducted a mobile Lok Adalat at the State Bank of India in Pungro town. Holika Sukhalu, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary of Kiphire DLSA, was the presiding officer. Chief LADC Ayiala Imti and Deputy LADC Lizi Sangtam were conciliators, assisted by Pungro PLVs.
A total of 13 pre-litigation bank loan recovery cases were taken up, out of which 11 cases were amicably settled with an amount of INR 17,31,200.
Dimapur: The Dimapur DLSA conducted the Lok Adalat at the District Court, Dimapur, headed by Chairman N Longshithung Ezung and Secretary Atoka Achumi.
During the proceedings, 60 bank recovery cases were settled, amounting to INR 46,01,223, and 36 pre-litigation cases relating to BSNL were settled, amounting to INR 37,988. Further, six cases relating to MACT were settled, amounting to INR 53,30,000. A total of 102 cases were settled, amounting to INR 99,69,211.
Zunheboto: The Zunheboto DLSA conducted the session at the District Court Complex. District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman of ZDLSA Phuleto Yeptho, was the presiding officer. Easter H Yepthomi and Vilibo K Zhimo were the conciliators.
Altogether, 8 pre-litigation bank recovery cases were taken up, and seven were disposed of with a total settlement amount of INR 23,67,922.
Longleng: The Longleng DLSA conducted the Lok Adalat at the District Court Complex. Kumdilong Kessen, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary of LDLSA, was the presiding officer. Assistant Defence Counsel Joseph Phom, Retainer Lawyer K Bongyei Phom, Panel Lawyer Yingloi, and Panel Lawyer Akongla were the conciliators. PLV Yingli was also present.
Altogether, six pre-litigation cases and one pending litigation case were taken up, out of which six cases were disposed of with a total settlement amount of INR 83,18,648.
