Thirty-one shooters qualify for the North East Zone meet as the 11th Nagaland Shooting Championships conclude in Dimapur
DIMAPUR — Thirty-one shooters have qualified to represent Nagaland at the 13th North East Zone Shooting Championships after impressive performances in the 11th Nagaland Shooting Championships 2026, which concluded at the Aries Sports Complex Shooting Ranges, Bamunpukhuri-I, on Thursday.
The four-day championship, held from July 27 to 30, was organised by the Aries Rifle and Pistol Shooting Academy (ARAPSA) and the Khelo India Centre, and conducted by the Nagaland Rifle Association (NRA).
A total of 66 shooters, including 15 women and 51 men, competed in 36 rifle and pistol events, reflecting the growing participation in shooting sports across the state.
In the overall medal standings, Aries Rifle and Pistol Shooting Academy (ARAPSA) emerged as the overall champions with 40 medals. Ladybird School Shooting Academy (LBSSA) finished second with 16 medals, while the Kohima District Shooting Association (KDSA) secured third place with 10 medals.

The Sungratsu Shooting Association (SSA) won five medals, while the Peren District Shooting Association (PDSA) finished with one medal.
Based on their performances at the state championship, 31 shooters have earned berths to represent Nagaland at the 13th North East Zone Shooting Championships, scheduled to be held in Guwahati, Assam, from August 25 to 30.
The championship was conducted under the technical supervision of qualified officials of the Nagaland Rifle Association and served as a qualifying platform for higher-level competitions while promoting shooting sports in the state.
