WOKHA — After a gap of eight years, the Miss Wokha beauty pageant is set to make its much-anticipated return in Wokha town on November 15. This announcement was made during a press conference held at the Lotha Eloe Hoho (LEH) Ki, jointly organised by the LEH and Glamours Event Management.
Speaking at the event, LEH President Thungbeni Ngullie expressed enthusiasm over the revival of Miss Wokha which was last held in 2017.
She acknowledged that the pageant was discontinued due to the high financial and logistical demands involved, but affirmed that renewed support from various agencies and the partnership with Glamours Event Management has made its comeback possible.

Ngullie emphasised that the event is more than a celebration of beauty -- it serves as a platform for young women to showcase their talents, build confidence, and engage meaningfully with society. “We believe such platforms play an important role in today’s world. They encourage participants to use their voice, knowledge, and skills for the betterment of society,” she said.
She further clarified that Miss Wokha is distinct from Mr. & Miss Tokhü, a community-based pageant held annually in November. While Miss Tokhü is conducted entirely in the Lotha language and centers on Lotha culture and heritage, Miss Wokha is broader in scope and aims to promote cultural appreciation, social awareness, and community unity.
Event Director Thungbeni Kikon of Glamours Event Management shared details of the upcoming auditions and eligibility criteria.
The auditions will be held on Sep. 20 at Zumba Fitness Centre, Tsumang (opposite DC Office, Wokha), and at Lotha Hoho Ki, Kohima, starting from 10 am onwards while the date for Dimapur auditions will be announced shortly. The process will be supported by the Lotha Students’ Union in Wokha and respective student unions in Kohima and Dimapur.
Eligibility requires contestants to be unmarried indigenous Lotha women, aged between 18 and 25 years, with a minimum height of 5 ft 3 in (160 cm). Interested individuals may directly attend the auditions.
Kikon also announced that the winner of Miss Wokha will receive a wildcard entry to compete in Miss Nagaland, with the Beauty and Aesthetics Society of Nagaland (BASN) partnering in the event. She welcomed sponsorships and encouraged interested candidates to contact 7005764490 (Wokha) or 9787551962 / 8787551962 (Kohima) for further details.
