KOHIMA — Renowned Tenyidie singer and Northeast Idol 2015 finalist Mhasizolie Metsieo released his debut album “Terhuo Dielie”, at the Red Cross Building in Kohima on Thursday.
The album, comprising seven songs in the Tenyidie language, was officially released by NPF vice president Peter Kuotsu.
During the launching programme, Kuotsu recalled how Metsieo’s father had been a respected singer who encouraged many musicians in their village and that Metsieo continued that legacy.

Kuotsu further said that performers need to remain mindful of their conduct as the public closely watch them, and noted that good use of talent could enable artistes to grow and move forward. He remarked that many skilled singers are unable to advance due to financial mismanagement and encouraged artistes to prioritise in developing their talents.
He further shared that Tenyidie was once an important dialect and a link language among many tribes, and emphasised on the need to revive and promote it rather than solely encouraging children to focus on English. He cited that music is one of the strongest platforms through which language can be strengthened.
Sharing about the making of his album, Metsieo said it has been through God’s grace that he was able to write and complete the songs. He acknowledged the support of his parents, friends and fellow artistes throughout his musical journey. He also mentioned that many of the songs were deeply personal and drawn from significant phases of his life, adding that he hoped the compositions would resonate with listeners and remain timeless.
