Nagaland IT $ C depart organises workshop on 'myScheme'

  • DIMAPUR — With an aim to build awareness and capacity among government officials regarding user-centric digital platforms, the Department of Information Technology and Communication (IT&C), in collaboration with the National e-Governance Division (NeGD) of the Ministry of Electronics and IT, Government of India, conducted a one-day sensitisation and awareness workshop on ‘myScheme and UX4G (User experience for government applications)’ on Thursday at the conference hall of its directorate.

  • In his welcome address, the director of IT&C, Sabou Yashu, informed that the department had previously conducted two rounds of training on upgradation and maintenance of government websites with various departments. He added that many more such workshops on subjects such as cyber security related issues, artificial intelligence would be organised in the coming days, stated a DIPR report.

  • With the rapid technological advancements, he stated that all government departments must adapt with those changes and utilise the various technologies available to provide the best services to its citizens.

  • Delivering the keynote address, Dr. G Hukugha Sema, commissioner and secretary of IT&C, has stressed the importance of accessibility and inclusivity in public digital platforms. He said that ‘myScheme app,’ launched in 2022 is a one-stop solution for information on government schemes and also serves as a single national platform for the schemes of both the central and state governments.

  • He stated that the initiative would bring the government closer to the people, to be transparent and make the schemes available to all its citizens on time.

  • Dr. Sema stressed the importance of making the app user-friendly to ensure that it is easily accessible to all the citizens particularly for the underprivileged sections of society. He encouraged all departments to collaborate and utilise the scheme and app to deliver smarter, faster and more citizen friendly governance.

  • It was followed by addresses by Rohit Lamba, consultant of myScheme, and Neeta Tandon, senior consultant of UX/UI at NeGD, MeitY.

  • The first session centred on myScheme, its vision, scope and implementation approach for making government schemes more accessible to citizens through a unified platform. Detailed technical briefings were provided on content management and onboarding of Nagaland-specific schemes.

  • The second session on the theme ‘UX4G (User Experience for Government),’ emphasised the role of design-thinking and intuitive interfaces in enhancing the usability of G2C (Government-to-Citizen) portals.

  • Demonstrations included a case study specific to Nagaland and a walkthrough of the UX4G design system for building reusable digital components.

  • Report stated that senior officers from various departments participated in the event. The workshop concluded with certificate distribution ceremony.

  • It further stated that the workshop was a significant step towards strengthening digital governance in Nagaland, aligning with the national vision of transparent, inclusive and citizen-friendly administration.
