- DIMAPUR — The
Nagaland Indigenous People's Forum (NIPF) has strongly supported the decision
of the state government to implement Inner Line Permit (ILP) in three districts
of Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Niuland.
- Welcoming the decision as in the interest and protection of
indigenous people, it cautioned that a day is not far when the local would
become minor and be a slave to outsiders if effective preventive measures are
not taken at the earliest.
- It pointed out that due to the negligence of some other
state governments, local indigenous people have now become second class
citizens in their own states and the same fate might befall on Nagaland if the
government does not act now.

- It mentioned that NIPF has been strongly supporting the
issue for a long time especially to safeguard the future of coming generation.
It has extended solidarity with the Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) and all
other CSOs who are fighting and standing for the rights of the indigenous
people.
- NIPF further appealed to the Government of Nagaland to
strictly monitor the ILP application/ implementation to check the cancerous
menace for the sake of Naga's future.
