- DIMAPUR — Four
athletes, Vivoto Tsukru, Sohilo Janch, Imkummendang Ozukum and Thanmi Angkang,
representing The Combat Academy Nagaland, participated in the Arunachal Open
Grappling Tournament (AOGT) held at Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh, on Sunday.
- According to an update, in the Advanced category under the
77 kg division, Vivoto won his first bout by walkover as his opponent did not
show up and advanced to the semifinals.

Nagaland grapplers display their medals and certificates
after excelling at the Arunachal Open Grappling Tournament held in Naharlagun,
Arunachal Pradesh, on Sunday.
- Sohilo won his quarter-final bout in the same weight
category via armbar submission and also advanced to the semifinals.
- Vivoto competed in the final, which he won via Kimura
submission against Nikam Dada from Arunachal, and claimed the gold. Sohilo was
awarded the bronze medal.

- Imkummendang competed in the Beginners category under 64 kg
and won the gold after a dominating performance throughout.
- In the Open Weight category, Vivoto and Sohilo competed
together again in a 32-man tournament and reached the semifinals, where they
faced each other. Being from the same team, Vivoto withdrew and secured the
bronze, while Sohilo lost in the final and won the silver medal.
- Also participating in the Professional bout in the main
event Super Match of AOGT, Thanmi Angkang won via armbar against David Chhangte
from Meghalaya.
