Nand Kishore Yadav honours NCC Nagaland cadets and team for successful Mount Saramati expedition.

KOHIMA — Governor of Nagaland Nand Kishore Yadav felicitated 50 individuals from the National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets of Nagaland and their officers and staff who summited Mount Saramati, the highest peak in Nagaland at 12,552 ft, on Thursday 16 at Lok Bhavan, Kohima.
It was informed that the expedition was the first-ever organised by NCC Nagaland from March 13 to the 19th and successfully completed the expedition.
Addressing the gathering, the governor expressed that the event celebrates the spirit of unity, discipline, and dedication that the cadets have shown.
Yadav said he was pleased to know about the successful scaling of Saramati Peak by the NCC Cadets of Nagaland along with their officers and staff.
“It is very heartening to know about the participation of girl cadets and lady associate NCC officers in this adventure activity, which is a true reflection of women's capabilities and their empowerment,” he said.

He commended that the initiatives undertaken by NCC Nagaland such as vibrant village visits, Yuva Aapda Mitra training of cadets, youth and alumni festival, conduct of national integration camp and trek, and the MoU signed with NIELIT and ICAR, will go a long way in promoting national integration, all round personality and skill development of the cadets of Nagaland, preparing them for future employment and as skilled citizens of the country.
Further, the governor advised the cadets that while celebrating their achievements today, they must also look towards the future with a sense of responsibility and resolve. Yadav urged them to hold steadfast to these values and work towards a nation where harmony and prosperity reign supreme.
