DIMAPUR — Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Thursday extended greetings and appreciation to teachers on the occasion of Teachers’ Day 2025.

In his message, Governor Bhalla lauded the tireless efforts and invaluable contributions of teachers in shaping young minds and nation-building.

Calling teachers the “bedrock of the education system,” he said that they serve not only as mentors and role models but also as nurturers who inspire curiosity, instil values, and prepare students to meet the challenges of tomorrow.

Bhalla reminded that teachers’ influence extends far beyond classrooms, helping mould compassionate and responsible citizens in a rapidly changing world.

The governor also congratulated the recipients of the State Level Teachers’ Awards and the National Teachers’ Awards 2025, describing them as sources of pride for Nagaland.

“On this Teachers’ Day, we honour the countless acts of patience, compassion, and devotion shown by our teachers. You are the true torchbearers of knowledge and wisdom,” Bhalla said, while urging society to support and empower the teaching community.

Acknowledging the challenges of the modern era, Rio said that the role of teachers is more vital than ever in fostering creativity and critical thinking among students.

He assured that the government remains committed to strengthening the education system, empowering teachers, and ensuring that the profession receives the dignity and respect it deserves.

Calling upon citizens to recognise the pivotal role of teachers, the CM urged students to uphold values of discipline, respect, and hard work instilled in them by their mentors.

Rio expressed his gratitude to the teaching fraternity for their tireless efforts, saying their guidance continues to inspire and illuminate the path for future generations.
